​Your Hospitality Squeeze is a podcast brought to you by Young Hoteliers Summit (YHS), a student committee at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL). This podcast is an extension of the annual summit where we grab the opportunity to squeeze and juice out all the hospitality knowledge insights and tips to share with current and potential future hospitality students. So consider this podcast like your business partner, your hospitality partner, your hospitality squeeze.

Studying in a country where you don't speak the language can be challenging, what about working in a foreign country where you don't speak the language? In this first official episode, we have invited Rohan and Ritvik to share with us their experiences of working in a different country where they do not speak the official language. Enjoy!

Accompanied by the increasing emphasis on personalised services, we are bound to encounter demanding guests in the hospitality industry. How could we adjust our mentality to better satisfy our clients' needs?  We invited Jua, Mairah and Kristy, three EHL students who recently completed F&B internships in different countries, to share their experiences and insights with you. Internships, something all hospitality students have to go through. The first things that come to mind are hotels and restaurants. However, internships in the hospitality sector are not limited to that. In this episode, we invited two EHL students, Ioana and Ines, who did theirs in a private clinic and an NGO, respectively. They will be sharing their experiences, giving advice and recommendations. 

Episode 4: Not Your Regular Hospitality

Everyone knows that “You will never have the second chance to make the first impression”. Therefore, It is common for people to have high expectations of body image for people who work in the hospitality industry. How could we cope with body image anxiety as a student who studies in a hospitality school? We invited Leah, Aysun, and Philip, three EHL students who recently completed their internships in different countries, to share their experiences and insights with you. In management schools it is common to find a lot of students with entrepreneurial mindsets with ideas of managing startups after their studies. However, not everyone has the courage to start their own company with friends in their first year of college. On this episode, we have invited three guests, Lucas, Frederik and Guillaume who has done exactly that. They will share about their startup “Trinity Cocktail”, how they created it in the first year at EHL, and some of their experiences. This episode will give you insights in this startup world by explaining tips, issues and solutions to common problems. Enjoy!

The Young Hoteliers Summit organizes a big event every year: The Summit, inviting professionals of the industry and students all around the world to have the role of delegates. In this podcast, we invite two delegates of this year’s summit Rebecca Zimmer from the Hotel management school in Maastricht and Leo Tran of the UNLV College of Hospitality in Nevada. They will tell us who they are, what made them get into hospitality, skills they think are most important in this world, and their role in the Summit.
